Hi!
My last pony had 1 stud hole per shoe, I just used them whilst doing eventing (unaffiliated)...
My horse who is 15.3hh, will hopefully be getting up to Be90 by the end of this year. Is 1 stud hole per shoe okay or will he need 2?
Many thanks!❤️❤️❤️

my farrier wont put 2 in due to the injuries he has seen if the horse accidently catches the inside one on the opposite leg-it happens to often and easy causes quite severe injuries for his liking.
eventers at work go up to 130 with just one

Start with 1 and if later on you really find it is not enough put in 2 then, most horses can do the lower levels with just 1 behind unless they are really lacking in self preservation, I frequently take the front ones out before going xc unless the ground is very slippery, they tend to need the grip more for dressage and SJ than the xc phase.

One less injuries if you only have an outside one and the leg can swivel and twist more easily making it less hard on the legs .

I agree, start with one and see how you go.

I have one in each shoe, but in the past have had two. When I had two I only used the outside one for the jumping phases tbh.
