1" thick MDF to park horse box on

Did you mean marine plywood? Not a lot better, but at least weatherproof.

Mike007 - I have to park my horse box - when it finally arrives on some rather wet clay/grass..... the boxes currently parked their are sinking fast.. I possibly will not be staying at my current yard much longer (see screaming child post) so do not want to spend a fortune getting stone put down - especially as it is not my land.

MDF is like a sponge! It will be no good at all. You need rubber mats.
