1 year tomorrow I bought my now rising 3 year old Swallow I'd seen her advertised and for some reason I kept going back to the advert and took the courage to phone and enquired she was still for sale and someone was going to look at her on the tuesday.I then went to see her the next day I pretty much decide as soon as i saw her she was mine she then comfirmed that by following me everywhere around the field (no headcollar).

She arrived at the yard a few days later a sweaty crazy mess reaing and just being awful... Peoples faces read untrainable and naughty.Either my mum thought we shouldn't keep her..

I ignored everyone and battled thorough everything she did and refused to give up it's still a tough journey we have bad days when i feel like giving up but she's learning to trust and can't wait to see what the future holds :)

I hope that if anyone who told me I couldn't do it and i should give up I hope you feel a fool :)

Here's some pictures of when i got her to now :)

I have a "I told you so" too, but you have to tell your story and not just the beginning. What were the issues and how did you work through them? Oh, and what is she like now compared to how she was? I love stories like these.

She's lovely by the way:)

Well... her issues were everything basically she knew nothing couldn't lead reared and bucked sometimes walking on her back legs at any fear and tried to bolt from everything wouldn't tied up wouldn't be stabled was scared of fields and everything they inculded wouldn't be let me catch her would drag me down the field if they did manage to get her to the gate.

Time and trust was the key i spent two to three hours everynight getting her in from the field walking about a foot every few mintues. She started to learn that life wasn't scary and I wasn't going to hand her to the gate monster :p I also now use a chiffney purley to keep hold of her .yes I no people will have a go but I do not use it it is there purley for safety to be honest i was left with little choice i refused at first but it was getting dangerous it was that or my parents pretty much wanted her sold. so please don't comment if all people want to do is have a go about it we do what we have to. I now don't really need to use but she wears it just incase. hopefully i will be able to removed it altogther soon :)

Nowadays she getting so much better not there but better she is such a different horse from what she was if someone had told me when i first got her she'd be the way she is now I would have laughed . she still rears sometimes monthly probably less compared to everyday when put in a situation she doesn't like but we getting there. she will now stay in a stable, be caught, tied up be groomed pick up her feet pretty much everything. will now walk pass most things without batting a eyelid.

I'm very proud that i own her :)

If the issues where her just being a youngster.
Why is this an I told you so?

Well done for working with her and improving her by proper education.

Why were people so negative?
Unless their were other issues and they thought nothing could be done or you wernt experienced enough?

Yep, my thoghts too. I'm about to sell a 3 year old 'from the field' and she would be just this having been left to be 'a horse' since birth. Mind you she isn't in poor condition though. Would certainly stress and sweat travelling.

OP you need to be a bit more specific here. She looks lovely and I'm sure you've done a great job btw and well done for this she looks in great condition. Who is this 'told you so' aimed at?????

Just goes to show patience is a virtue :)
