I have seen a 15 mile ride advertised with an option to do a 10 shorter loop.

How do I know if my mate is ready for it? Physically and mentally?

We currently hack out for an hour at a time or school for 45 to an hour.

She had been to a show with her previous owner just before I bought her but has not left the yard in the last 7 months.

I don't have anyone to go with and seeing as when my friends horse bolted she filled suit I'm thinking it's prob not a good idea just yet?

Options needed!
This is te sort of thing I would love to do but need my girl to be ready for it.

Go as far and as fast or slow you want to go, no one will be pushing you it is your pleasure, and yes she would manage fine, probably do her good.

10 miles really isn't very far - I would be surprised if your mare wasn't ok with it (provided you don't gallop the lot!) from the description of her workload you give. I did a 15 mile one on Sunday with some friends - my pony bounced the whole way and was up for carrying on when we got back (and he's nowhere near "fit" as I'd like!), but seriously, some of the other horses who made it back were clearly neither fit nor remotely in shape. There were a few I'd put down as seriously obese, and even they managed (slowly!).

Ok that's great to here! I'm sure she will be fine then. I just worried about her getting too over excited or scared!? She is fine to hack alone or in company but horses in te distance might be an issue! Lol!
