100 MILE round trip fuel cost in a horse lorry??

Depends upon the lorry!

Make of chassis-Bedford TK? DAF???? Merc?

Also weight of vehicle! 3.5t, 6.5t, 7.5t, hgvs etc

I have an artic that does 6 miles to the gallon! Thats a top spec MAN! Does pull a 44 tonner trailer though!

And the 100 miles-up and down hills or straight motorway run!

Most miles per gallon info can be found on the chassis website

in a newish 3.5t i think it cost me around 80-90 for a 400 mile trip (so 20 for 100miles?) but i would say about double the cost in a 7.5t. £40+ this is if you are driving yourself, not paying a transporter.

but fuel prices have gone up since then.......

Thanks both ....its a 3.5t quite modern lorry not sure on make/model but would be all motorway miles, i only need an approximate cost so i know roughly how much to reimburse someone for their fuel costs.....

K xx

I'd give them £50 to cover fuel, it's so expensive these days, why I'm selling my transport really I can't afford fuel and entries!!

Thanks ....the price of fuel is ridiculous, unfortunately im lucky as i have all my fuel paid for by work however i choose to not have a fuel card due to tax as i dont use my car for personal miles and therefore claim all mine back at a 1000 miles a week thats a lot of ££££'sss to be claiming back im really noticing the increase at the moment so i dont blame you for selling !!!

if its a transport company they'll charge a pound a mile, if its a friend probs £50 & a bottle of wine/a added gesture for their time?!
