I did not want to jump on Oldie,s post with the superb Mr D so here is an opportunity to show veteran riders with veteran horses.
This is Lycos, I had the pleasure of riding him for his owners for 5 years until he retired. In this photo we are winning an Open Intermediate Trec Class with TSW. I think we added up to 99yrs on that day.119485405_10223392312579103_899220240325023369_n.jpg

That's brilliant! I have no pictures but I was talking to an older chap on a very lively pony at this year's Kiplingcotes Derby and he was cross because he and the pony added up to 96 and there was another combination in the race that added up to 97. And this was at the end of the race and pony was still incredibly full of it so they were obviously a fit combination.

Age is just a number, as I keep telling myself having had a "big" birthday yesterday. Although my horse is only 18 so we don't add up to a huge number yet.

There is a combo at my yard who are 81 and 27. I dont hack with her as she is bonkers and flies about the countryside like a mad thing!

She broke both collarbones last year when her older horse started tripping a little bit at the age of mid 30's! So he was retired and she was back onboard in less than 2 months. Tough lady with tough horses and she is a delight.
