hi carthorse do you use paypal for accepting payments and if so how safe is it. They have credit card details and bank account details is'nt that a bit dodgy.
Am i right in thinking it's not only the listing you pay for it's the selling and picture which you are charged for
PayPal in my experience is very safe, no other party sees your details at all, they simply see a payment as received or not.
Yes you do pay for photos (first ones are FREE!) others are 12p each, gallery photo ranges from 5p to 15p depending on category, in all it's a great way to buy and sell I LOVE IT!
Yes you pay a small fee for selling (comission, as in any auction house) but for small cheap items it is pence, and you obviously charge the buyer P+P.
I have A 60" girth for sale at the mo but listed it last night not realising 10p day Thurs! Oops.
one thing people might not know, if you accept paypal payment you must send the item by an online trackable service. Proof of posting is not enough. If you don't and the buyer reports it to paypal that they haven't received item and you can't produce a tracking number they will refund the payment, then any dishonest buyers will have the money and the item!
Oooh thanks for letting us know that horsegirl, I didnt know that and am about to send some pretty expensive computer parts (buyers paid by Paypal). Was just going to get proof of postage but guess itll be recorded now!
Thank you for that, I have a rather nice very well looked after Devoucoux dressage saddle that I was going to list tomorrow, will hang on until next week for the cheap listing I think.
Always best to do things with Recorded/Special to have a tracking number, you shouldn't lose out because you charge them P+P, so everyone should be happy!
