12 foot long lines, surely too short?

I purchased some long lines off of ebay without checking the size as assumed for long lining would be 22-30 ft, but have now got x2 12ft lines, I am new to long lining so just tried them on my girl last night but even at the end of the lines I wasn't out of kicking distance. I wanted them to long line the fields so not in the manege. Just surprised how short they are, am I missing something?

Much too short!! Mine are 30ft but 22 would have been better.

Maybe they are for miniatures! Ah well I can always use them for leading.

12ft lines are great for loading or leading a naughty or excited horse. Not a bad thing to have around
