I tend to charge it about once a month if not less but mine is on 24/7 plus it powers sheep netting fencing. If I can't hear it clicking loudly I do it!
We've got ours into the mains but i think it depends how much electric fencing you've got on it. You can get those thingies to test it, it's much better than tryng it yourself.

Is that your energiser that makes the noise? I know they are all different (mine has a flashing light) but if I can hear the fence clicking it usually means it is earthing somewhere and not being particularly efficient.
Mine is 9V, on during the day only and I usually test it about once a month to see if it needs charging.
I found it miles easier to get an energiser that has a built in charge meter like the ones from Rappa (who are brilliant and cheap!). Our horses need the fence to be on all the time, so I dont want to have to wait until its too late before I know. And I cant be bothered to use a separate tester.
Really do recommend the Rappa ones which are made by Speedrite!
I change the battery over about once a month, and also walk round and test all the fence is working using one of these, very handy if you don't like touching the fencing
I have bought a little solar pannel that works of day light so he trickles feeds my batery all the time but i use a 12v truck battery last longer than the little car batterys!
Hardly ever. Sometimes I do it because I think it must need doing. Probably about once every 3 mths. Woman on yard bought one of them solar power trickle feeders, I was sceptical and cant tell for sure yet but last time I charged it was def beguinning of June before I went on my hols.
We electrify one very long run, 2 strands of tape and also 3 smaller ones off one energiser (Robinsons dearest one) and a leisure battery.
Yes mine clicks cos its sheep netting so its all the way down to the ground so is less efficient but its the only thing that keeps my sh1tland contained!! My unit also has a battery low indicator.
