13yr old girls dies after horse stands on her

Just seen this on the BBC.....
Garsdale in Cumbria, apparently she was seeing go her pony/horse and it was spooked and she was trampled on her chest on Friday.
She sadly died in hospital. Truly awful accident to happen, and sincere condolences to all her family and connections.

It really sent shivers down my spine, my mum was trampled a few years ago when turning out. Her horse was slightly behind her, something spooked him, he barged forward knocking her over in front of him and ran over the top of her. All she could see and feel were his legs and hooves wrapped in hers. In hindsight she was very lucky to walk away with a broken sternum and legs that were black from her ankles to her knees.

All truly sad for her family :-(

Truly tragic, I cannot imagine how the family are feeling.

On a a different note, whilst I understand that the comments beneath this article on H&H Latest News are in no way related to this particular tragedy, I do wish that given this type of article the comments on previous articles were removed. A bit wordy but I hope you get what I mean.

I read this yesterday and it gave me chills, one of those horrible "what if" situations. Rest in Peace and my love goes out to her family x

My mum knew this girl and she was in the classes that my mum was a TA in at the school the girl was at. Atleast she went with the animal she loved the most RIP Elizabeth
