If anyone knows of anyone who is looking for a hacking pony - to go to a good home - please shout!
Must be for off road hacking after a car hit her 18 months ago, must also hack out in company.

Will only go to an adult home due to the above.

I know there is the perfect home out there somewhere for her - where she will be loved, spoilt rotten and most importantly be able to do a job again (hates being left in a field)

1st year would be on a loan - with ownership then being signed over.

Only reasons for her looking for a new home are that I do have a small amount of road work which is just not safe, and I am still crocked from the accident myself

, keep hoping things will get better but they dont seem to.

Obviously if no home comes forward she will continue to veg out in the field.

Oh and she is sound - have full veterinary reports from the accident for anyone with an interest- fine as a hack. Equally is a fab nanny to foals.

I hope no one shouts at me for this - although I guess people may think its an ad?

Is she safe to hack off road?

Im sure there are plenty of people that would like a nice pony to just hack out. Hope you find her a lovely home.

I'm afraid definately not on the road - she is as honest as anything but genuinely gets so scared.

The car hit us at around 40mph! Fortunately the main damage was muscular to her offside hindquarters ( I say fortunately - but you know what I mean). She had bucket loads of physio and ultra sound - hence the reason she is as good as she is.

She is located in the South West by the way.

Thanks for your message

OMG, so glad to hear you are both ok.

I live on a farm and only cross a tiny smal country lane on a long ride, is this even too much for her

I am on the Herts/essex border I keep my pony at a private yard with just 4 others- we have an arena and 6 acres with the hacking from the back of the yard- the 17miles is called the Flitch way (it used to be a traintrack before 1978) and it leads to Hatfield forest over 150acres of off road forestry hacking- I can ride for 4 hours without seeing a vehicle. I love it but I have a yearling so cant ride him for a good few years. She sounds Ideal as im only 5'3 so a perfect size for me! Shame!!

Dont mean to sound rude but if the pony is right for you why wouldnt you be prepared to travel to see it? You could always see photos/vido first

I took on a pony like this years ago, and actually managed to turn her round. What I did was found her grass livery next to a very busy road (it was actually the surrey section of the M25 while they were widening it) and left her for 3 months. Her attitude changed completely with time.

Worth considering while you look for a home at least?

Hi all, she is possibly not the most reliable for kids at the moment - ideally would be a adult home mainly.

She has been turned out in fields along roads for the last 12 months - but whilst she has improved she is still very anxious about cars approaching from behind - and tends to spin - so I would not like her to be put in that position really.

If you are struggling what about a working loan at a college? As far as I'm aware they don't really do much hacking and they have a range of abilities they need to cater for. So as long as she is sound and able to school/do a little jumping that might be an option. You'd certainly be guaranteed a good standard of care.

That is all she would do. I would love that, all I want is a happy hacker, what weight can she carry. I am 11 1/2 stone. I am prob too heavy.

When all I mean she would do is cross a country lane. After that lovley country walks.

Pm me if you like the sound of us

Thanks ajn1610. I have thought about this......alot. But as I am not sure she would be up to the jumping I'm not sure that any college would want her. As far as I can remember they need them to have a basic level of everything and stay sound - and I cant completely guarantee her soundness if she were to jump
