Cant believe my old boy made it to his 14th birthday, bless him! He's very wibbly wobbly but still as happy as larry.

Anyone else had a Dalmation that made it as far as Rocket has?

I would be interested to hear your stories!

Lovely :D. My old dalmatian made it to 13 and a half (very important half). My current one is 12 going on 2 so I have high hopes for her even though she does feel her joints now.

It's really heart warming to hear of these breeds living longer - so long as they're happy. I wish you many happy times to come.

He was put on Gumtree, ad was shared on an animal rescue site, he was taken in, given up again after a week and is currently in foster I believe.
Sorry to hijack OP...but you are an example of a very good owner and your dog is lucky to have you x

My aunts liver spotted dalmation, Sherry (definately named afer my aunts favourite drink!) lived till she was 15. She was the main dog I knew growing up as she would stay with us whilst they were on holiday and we went every sunday to visit when we were younger and would take her to the park. When she got fed up she went home without us. Only dog I have ever met who could safely cross the road (smallish village and not a main one though!). She was in good health if a bit rickety till she died, just one morning couldnt get up and vet came out to the house to put her to sleep. My sister and i cried so much when mum told us. Never ate dog food in her life, had whatever Aunt had cooked for the family, old fashioned cook so lots of roast dinners and the like. Have always wanted one just too high energy and big for me but maybe in the future. Sorry for long post, she was just a fab dog.

Well done to Rocket, happy birthday. :D

I have 2 dalmations, one is 9 and one is 7, I hope they both do as well as your lad!
I knew of one that made it to 14 but was very wobbly by then!

Thanks everyone for your good wishes.

The old beggar as I said is very wobbly but still manages to jump on the sofa albeit a tadge precariously, bless him. I'm dreading the time I have to say thats enough but hopefully he'll go on for a while yet.

Then I have to go through it all again, my other Dalmation is 13 in November of this year!

I must be mad! lol

I had a dally get to 15 (well I always say 15 but he was actually 6 weeks off his birthday so I just say 15 instead of nearly 15:p). He was still able to get on the sofa till the end (with the aid of a large low stool in the last few months). My others got to 12/13 so average . And what is with you people talking about your dallies and not posting photos . Shocking!:p:D I can't get on the bucket at the mo as I have (again)forgotten my password. The GSD Mafia and the Spangle Massive are always posting photos of their mutts so lets show them some proper dogs!:D
