I'm (still) looking for a horse to loan and have found an American Paint Horse which is 15hh. My last horse was 15.2hh and I'm a bit concerned I might be too big for him. I'm 5'9" and have pretty long legs. Would he be too small??

Depends on his build and what you want to do with him. Cobs don't come up very large, but they are weight carriers.

It also depends on how you feel when you ride him, some small horses ride "big" others feels as though you are on a tiny pony. Also how much you weigh. I would think that including saddle around 12 stone would be his max. Bear in mind though that in the USA small horses carry large western saddles and men, but mostly they wouldn't be doing a lot of galloping and jumping.

my mare is 15hh, I am 5'9'', we get on just fine, she is not quite a cob either, tbh as long as you feel ok a15hh should be fine with you weight as long as it has a bit of bone about it
