I have a 15month dales x trad who is out in the day in at night and has swollen hind fetlocks most every morning.
I can prod and poke them and she doesn't react but she can come out of the stable stiff some mornings.
I have had the vet out who did an external examination and had me trot her up and turn her in circles on the hard and soft but couldn't see a cause for concern and put it down to her growing.
She asked what I was feeding - unlimited hay and she can scoff, and a v small feed (below recommended amount on packet) of d&h suregrow, a handful of graze on chaff and a handful of linseed...
Vet weigh taped her and measure d her (13.3hh) said she is a chunky girl but can still see and feel ribs so no concerns and doesn't think I'm over feeding so to just keep an eye.
Really not sure whether I should leave it as is. Obviously swelling and stiffness worries me but if it's just growing as suggested am I worrying unnecessarily?
