Sooo... I haven’t been here much at all recently. I turned over my homebred in his carriage nearly two years ago and we haven’t done much since. He is still turned away (I tried some work last year and he wasn’t ready so back out he went) following some late-appearing injuries from the accident.
So at the moment, I have my little girl’s two Ponies- her rising 3 year old and his rising 4 year old brother.
The rising 4 year old was gently introduced to the carriage last summer, took to it no bother and was turned away soon after. So last week he went back in after a quick reintroduction to longreins and blinkers, and he’s a little sweetie.
I’ll do something similar towards the end of the summer with his little brother, however he’s somewhat sharper (and I’m very much hoping that he’ll be my driven show pony when he’s ready!)
I’ve put a good few ponies into harness over the past few years, but these are the smallest, and I’m sure they think much quicker than I do! I don’t have the ‘thinking’ time available that I do with the biggies!
Looking forward to his new 4 wheeler arriving soon- I was hoping this two wheeler would fit but the little sods have grown a good couple of inches over the winter and it’s now too small... 🙄
Anyway- complementary pics! GB is the rising 4 year old- 4 white socks. Herbie is the rising 3 year old- three white socks. The last ones are from last summer and shows them in their not-dun-clipped-to-dishwater-colour proper coats!
