aside the fact that its 1 and is jumping - hmmmmmmmmmmm, that would be a really weird choice of photo anyway for a youngster they are implying will be good at what, showing?? why not a side on conformation pic?!!!all a bit fishy

Presumably, they are selling him as a potential 'Sport's Horse' - hence their shot of him clearing a fence. However, like you, I'd rather see a well taken photo of him stood up showing his conformation.

As for him photographed jumping; I don't think a yearling popping a small jump once or twice on a good surface, is going to do him any harm. (NOT that I do it personally nor condone it I hasten to add!) But my babies do a lot worse all by themselves on the hard summer ground, just romping about playing amongst themselves!

I expect the seller has seen a couple of those full page auction adverts you see in magazines at certain times of the year. You know, the ones with yearlings and two year olds jumping massively over 6 foot jumps! They probably think that is the appropriate way to show off a 'well bred' youngster to its best advantage. That said, someone should have told them a front-on view isn't much help to man nor beast.
