So as most of you will know I broke my collar bone 4 weeks tomorrow in the Lucinda Green clinic (I had arranged
) on my youngster Cruz. So have been riding now for 2 weeks, started to ride then horse (Dexter) went lame with nail bind
not happy! So rode friends ponies whilst Cruz was having a bit of time off (after Vicky rode her at Firle)
So Dexter came sound and had his shoe on, on Tuesday. So started riding properly had a jump lesson Weds and then jumped again Friday, had a anter out Sat in preparation for Sunday.
Now Dexter was Intermediate (BE) fir when I bought him no have tried to drop the fitness level a bit but being full TB he holds it quite well!! So got there walked the course and having not evented for almnost 3months the course looked on teh bigger side to me being the PN and Novice BE course combined but didnt look too bad, just a dodgy line from the trekaner to a double or bounce but apart from it looked ok.
So put my number down and went and tacked up, was starting to feel nervous "what if I fall off" "and hurt my collar bone"
but managed to get on ok at the step and head off to the warm up. well...............Dexter was a loony!!! So so up for the job he was half passing all around the warm up and took at least half hour to settle abit!!
Meanwhile im thinking oh crap! This thing is going to bugger off with me out there!!
So jumped some warm up fences and he seemed to settle a bit and I felt a bit more at ease.
My number came up so I walked nutter down to start box and he was throwing a wobbly going in! And then starter said I had to go out as didnt get in there quick enough, this happened 3 times!!! And Dexter is just like "LET ME GO"!!!
So we set off and WOW he was amazing he completely respected me and came back to me and was so bold, he just flew everything, and I had a big smile on my face all the way round!! Made the dodgy line from the trekaner to the double feel like a walk in the park! I was chuffed to bits with him and cant wait to Munstead on Sunday!!
See picture below to see my big smile!!!
