I have my 1st one day event looming this saturday and after getting over the shock of not having enough kit (why can't i wear my maroon riding hat?!) i thought it would be best to ask the experts if anyone had any tips and stuff. I don't know my times yet but wondered how long it was acceptable to leave the horse tacked up between classes etc.

Needless to say I am v excited, and sarah if you read this thank you in advance for lending me your kit!!!

Have only done 3 ODE's myself, but have enjoyed everyone of them!! My ned is the same as me, dont really like the dressage bit, but gets excited at sj and xc! Just remember to smile and have fun, you'll soon be addicted to them!!
Good luck, let us know how u get on!

i can only imagine how scary it must be! dangly legs, being a bit too bold over small fences sending you 6ft into the air!! My trusty ned being 15 years is the ideal way to learn! She poss sometimes forgets im actually going round with her!
