Luckily a lot of the places coming up are perfect 1st time novices.
Urchinwood - Ideal first time novice xc but Sj is a git as on a hill. But other than that absolutely ideal.
West Wilts - nice course up to height SJ
Broadway - nice Sj and not a technical course
Bricky - first time they are doing novice but I think the PN is small and they say they are going to build a first time novice. Dressage is a pain to warm up as on a slope but nice place.
Monmouth - what I would call an old fashioned novice - a lovely flowing course. Some harder stuff but they all have alternatives. Best of all not many pros as they all go to Gatcombe.
Mount Ballan - I thought this was nice - quite a short xc but the SJ is in the Derby arena which is pretty cool.

My daughter is doing her first novice at Gatcombe, but mainly because there is a military section and she can do that as a police officer
