so today was a huge day for me..... back in September last year I started riding a friend's Sec D out with her on another of her horses. I ended up buying her and I known her for a couple of years and seen her out and about regularly - hence I knew what I was getting, especially important given I was newly pregnant! I spent the winter focusing on flatwork and dressage and enjoyed many hacks that kept me sane... I rode to 34 weeks. My little mare never put a foot wrong, she is a gem! She has now had almost 10 weeks off, other than being lunged occasionally and this evening, we did this :D:D:D I'm a tad rusty lol and have a 3 week old baby so be gentle!

The very first time I've ever sat on her, and not been 'with child' ! She didn't put a foot wrong bless her, although I took it very easy and just did 10 mins in the field - plan on building up very gradually, although actually my core felt surprisingly ok, I didn't want to overdo it and regret it later.

I cannot WAIT to get going properly again and whatsmore actually JUMP her and be able to take the safety catch off out hacking too:D

Thanks for reading - haribo all round:cool:

:) Fab piccies! I'm so jealous that you managed to ride until 34 weeks! I got terrible motion sickness so had to stop at 18 weeks - not ideal as I had just got my newly backed 4 year old going! That was the loooooongest 24 weeks of my life (yes, I was 2 weeks overdue :( ) however I was back on 10 days after giving birth - best feeling ever! Enjoy your new baby and your beautiful pony!

Wow! Well done you!!

After 3 weeks I thought it was an achievement to be back in jeans, but jods - WOW!

She looks lovely, enjoy her and enjoy your new baby.

lol thank you - johds are stretchy:p:o

flipthelid - yikes, 10 days! Wow! I was still hiked up on pain killers til last week.

Haha, yes I was extremely lucky to have a very fast easy birth with no stitches or anything! Can't say the first few rides were entirely comfortable but soon got back into the swing of things and did mine and mares first unaff dressage comp last week at 14 weeks pp :)

ooh yeh you lucky thing! Mind you, mine could have been worse, but ended up with an epesiotomy (sp) and then off to theatre to root out a reluctant placenta and have been rather bruised and sore:o Going to take things very slowly as Id hate to do too much and then regret it later, Im just happy being back on board:D
