1st timers, cubbing yesterday :-)

Yesterday we went cubbing for the first time ever with the ESRM Hunt, we are all well into the middle years of our lives ( me being 43) and just had the most fabulous time ever!!!

Id just like to say a big thank you to everyone there who made us feel so welcome and looked after us so well.
If anyone is thinking of giving it a go, please do its the most brilliant feeling, (though the pace was a lot faster than I was led to believe)

We are all still on a high today and cant wait till the next one

He was brilliant, but im the 1st timer not him
He was on his toes and wanting to be in the thick of things but still respectful (most of the time) lol
The other horses from our yard were complete novices (one being an ex-racer) and they were also extremely well behaved.

Id say definately go for it,

I was considering doing this, would like to start hunting my boy this winter as we're hacking distance of a meet. Just need to get the guts to start out now!

Sounds like you had a great day snowball. I went to my first meet in September and absolutely loved it. I now want to go hunting on my own horse (when I get one).

Fortunately for us they met next door, so we just popped down the road and riding around our area, which I think helped greatly with the nerves knowing we werent likely to meet any nasty big hill (going down them lol) and also knowing the way round the jumps, although the ground is rock hard at the moment anyway so wasnt much jumping going on anyway.
