2 abreast wont be changed

Just heard that the government will not change the law about horses riding two abreast on roads as was rumored. Thank godness for that was wondering how on earth we would be able to introduce youngsters to road work

it was never a law anyway - the highway code is recommendations, not law. plus, the new wording never banned riding 2 abreast anyway - it just said it recommended people didn't ride more than 2 abreast and should go single file round corners and on narrow roads if possible.
