Last year we got 58 round bales off the field. This year we got 10.

There is still about 8-9inches of grass as they didn't cut it very short.

Would it be possible to get a second cut off the field? If so, when?

Do you think we'd get many more bales from that?

How many acres are we talking?? Our yield was lower this year, down from 78 bales to 56. Ours was cut short though.

There is still time for a 2nd cut but you wouldn't want to leave it much longer (and get a different farmer to do it this time!)

Yes you should be able to get a second cut from that, depending on your weather.

Mine is about the same length and I won't even consider a cut for at least another 6 weeks.

I think its roughly 6/7 acre field.

By my calculations, i think we need another 40 bales on top of the 10 we already have to see us through the winter.

Not sure we will get 40 off the field even with another cut though?

10 bales of 6/7 acres i hope you are talking round to oblong, if oblong i think you need to feed!

Don't think we are ever going to have more than 48 horus of dry weather here

Same here, we missed the dry spell as we were waiting for a new belt for the bailer
