I would love to know what you all do when at a show, leaving at 6am with 2 horses, one is competing at 9 am and the other not until 2 pm. I am taking both daughters and their horses to a comp tomorrow, we have to leave around 6 to get there and course walk the 9am one at 8 but the 2nd horse isn't competing til much later. The first horse then has to stand around waiting until we finish. There is no room to tie up outside the lorry although at lot of grounds don't let you do this anyway.

I have done this a few times and always worry, I know many people do it but just wanted to know the way you all do it and how your horses cope ?

I'd take the 2pm horse for a leg stretch when you get there then just leave it on the lorry with a haynet and offer water frequently.

Mine stand on the lorry no trouble, they just get used to it.

Last time that happened to me I took horse one in the morning for 9ish and then dropped him back, went for lunch, picked up horse two and took him up there for 2ish... But that only works if you're very local!
