My daffs are coming too and I had some fruit on a strawberry plant until the frost a couple of days ago. Beastie isn't moulting though, he has Icelandic blood in him and more sense.

Walked past a Ceanothus today when out at work that had a few flowers; I think the warm autumn weather played a lot of plants' systems up as well as our pasture

Ours is flowering too! Along with the Winter Jasmine (normal) and roses (not normal!). The buds are also coming along nicely on the magnolia.

I have a rose on one of the bushes. There are flies still flying about. I saw a wasp not that long ago. People will pay £1900 for a gold kettle.

I have a problem with queen wasps, they have made their homes in the log store underneath the bark on the logs, logs come in, warm up and out comes this large wasp, I hate wasps but didn’t realise how much pollination they do so instead of squishing them have been chucking them out in the cold so they have a chance.
I have two daffodils in flower

It's not really been that cold nor winter like yet. Yes it's been wet but more like a wet autumn. I can count on 1 hand how many times I have had to scrape ice off the car and I am out the dopr at 6am every day.

I suppose your right we have only had a weak of low temperatures and they are now rising and will be in double figures by the weekend.

Mine was moulting on his head as well
Archie's moulting all over. It's the first year he hasn't been clipped so I don't really know what his pattern is. All I know is I got a faceful of dusty mud and white hair. Thanks Arch.
I suppose I should be glad he's wintering so well that he feels he can moult! I'm really not looking forward to the rubber curry combing in spring. I know I'll get obsessive and keep going for hours until I think there's no more to come out - and there's always more to come out. Maybe I'll clip him in Feb and get rid of it all in one go!

My 2 have a high trace clip at the moment but usually clip out the whole body in January or February so we don't have moult hair it is much easier, I think as long as you have good rugs for them why not!

I've got primroses in the garden and have seen lots of trees with catkins on. Also for the first time ever I've had to have Mads clipped for a second time; always before she been done is November and not needed doing again, this year it nearly all grew back in four weeks - the clipper said she's seen quite a few the same.

He's retired so I have absolutely no need to do it but I hate hate hate the moulting stage. I do have rugs but Charlie wears them now so it would be a gamble. If they were both wearing the same weight, I wouldn't have a spare if one of them broke one and I'm not sure it's worth buying a rug just to avoid the moulting.

When I retired my mare she lived out unrugged then I just used a shedding blade to get the hair out in spring, it didn't take to long really but I know the moulting is a pain sometimes and the coat does get really dirty.
