So two quick questions, didn't see the point of making two different threads

Getting a really sore shoulder again already due to mucking out, get it this time of year, and the winter's only just started! Does anyone have any hints on how to ease it, am I mucking out 'wrong' ie. poor posture? I use a fork to muck out btw

And the other, my TB is staying in 24/7 atm due to a crack in his hoof we are trying to get to grow out a little. I give him a short walk / trot out morning and night, and he is SO full of himself. He hasnt been ridden for over a month now, so shouldnt he be unfit?! Do TBs hold their fitness well, or is he just being a baggage due to being stabled (however he usually stables very calmly, not fussed about being in) But he was fairly fit before he went lame...?

All he is eating is ad lib hay, carrots and formula for feet, so no fizzy feed

My TB hold his fitness really well he had 6 months off work and was still feeling well!! He does stable well for a few days or so but he did try to attack my dad after a week in the stable for a suspensory ligament injury. In fact he was that bad we turned him out and totaly different horse next day.

You need to see a good chiropractor or osteopath to make sure you are straight.
Often when you get RSI it is because of misalignment in your body.

As for your horse it is not because he is fit it is because he is lacking in exercise that he wants to prat around.

I have had many horses with severe cracks in their feet and have never had to keep them confined. There are ways to keep the crack together, either by a plate screwed onto the wall of the foot or by stapling it through the wall with a nail. Both methods have worked successfully with several horses I have had through my hands.
You need a good farrier who knows about these methods.

Yeah, we have got it stapled together and additional clips on the shoe. It is quite stable now, but its a combination of that, he's just finished a course of anti biotics for an infected fetlock, and he gets mud fever really bad, so I can't decide whether to turn him out again now or not :S Thanks for your replies :)
