Summer 2008,looking like someone actually gives a damn about him.

sadly there arent any more recent action shots as he spent most of this summer in the field recovering from an injury. So this is how he spent most of his summer.

Happy 2 year anniversary tommorow darling boy. Thanks for all you've taught me. Love you loads.

He looks lovely. But is it just the angle of the photo - or is your saddle too narrow, too high in front, and tipping your weight backwards when you are on him? Might just be the pic, but worth a look.

I have to ask, how can you see all that from one photo?
To me he looks to have a short back and fairly prominent withers, so I would think saddle fitting probably isnt very easy on him. ( I could be wrong!

OP, hes gorgeous!! You have done very well with him.

Wow what lovely comments-thank you very much.

nic85-yes-he is very difficult to fit a saddle too. His saddle was fitted by a master saddler.

Considering he'd been dumped on the 'scrap heap' so to speak things have worked out well for both of us. So thanks again for the kind comments

Lovely improvement, have to agree with the saddle thing i too had a horse with high withers difficult to fit a saddle to - however a master saddler fit mine and withing 3 months of tlc and top spec the saddle didnt fit at all. And you can see from the pics he has definately changed shape, maybe worth having saddler back out just for an annual check

Perhaps should have said before- it has been checked twice since it was fitted-i generally have it done every 6 months. He hasnt been ridden very much this year due to an injury so it wasnt done in the spring as normal but as he's just coming back into work now it will be done again soon.

Thanks again for the positive comments -they are much appreciated

Can' t you see that in that photo, the saddle appears to be up at the front and down at the back? Where the rider is supposed to sit in the middle on a level point, it slopes backwards. But as I said, it could just be the angle of the photo, not seeing the horse in the flesh I couldn't say. But I thought it was worth a comment, not knowing whether the owner had a saddle fit issue that they didn't know about. Obviously not, but no harm done mentioning it.
