2010 BMW X5 good for towing?

Hi there - I'm thinking to buy a 2010 BMW X5 - but as I've learnt recently AWD is very different to 4WD. I definately need 4 wheel drive. I currently have a Sorento AWD and it's useless off road! Apparently the older X5s are very good but not sure if 2010 is 'older'! thanks for any views on this particular model and year!

We used to tow with one. The pic is of us in a field in Wales at a TREC competition. I used to enjoy driving it but when it got too old (I can’t remember exact reg as it was a personalised plate) we couldn’t afford a newer one so went for a VW Touareg, which we’ve had had various models since. My husband says the VW is a much better car for towing.

The one you’re looking at may be a newer Version than we had.

I work for BMW and tow with an X3, it tows like a dream, barely even know the trailer is attached to the car, even with my 650kg horse in the trailer!

It’s a 2009 x5 I’m looking to buy if you have any thoughts on them off road towing? Thanks

no experience of one of that age but they look to have a much larger towing capacity than my x3s, so I wouldn't see that you'd have any issues towing with it!
