250 gypsy horses abandoned in Bridgend.

250 horses??? How on earth does that number of horses go unnoticed for so long that some are dying from starvation???

No no, it's their human rights to do whatever they please, including torturing horse and ponies, the animals should be left to suffer as the travellers desire' as this is their wonderful rich misunderstood culture, which as we are told all so very often we all don't understand, saving these animals will interfere with their way of life and enrage some EU bureaucrat and probably get the UK some £50million fine.

Best leave the RSPCA to "monitor" the situation, at least till they are all dead, besides some asshhole judge will only give them back to them once fed watered vetted for it all to happen all over again.

Well said. That biased programme made me angry, and now they are suing, saying the prog gave them a bad rep. Says it all.

This thread will prob get pulled.

I'd imagine this situation is pretty hard to sort out, are the owners known? To prove abandonment you need to prove that the owner had no intention of returning to the animal, so not easy to prove. This situation is similar to elsewhere in the country where the horses are left to roam the cities! The difference by the sounds of it is only that these horses have no food provisions, elsewhere the animals seem to have access to enough green stuff to maintain them!!! So if no owner known, then it's more likely that you'd have to deal with this situation as stray horses, which would require each animal being boarded for a minimum of 14 days before a court order can sign them over for selling or rehoming. The cost of getting enough transport, vets with the ability to dart if necessary, enough staff/people to herd and get all these horses contained for removal etc, then boarding them all and administering vet care for 14 days, would be an astounding amount, plus after the 14 days where would 250 horses go????? Then once it's all sorted out, sods law another 250 appear!!!!!!!.........................?????????????????? So whoever is able/prepared to tackle this situation needs as much of the equine communities support as possible!!!!!!!
