Rosie's done 29 BE Intro and PN Events in the last 3 years and got a clear round every time in the SJ.

I'm really proud of her as I really only bought her in the hope she'd do 2ft 9" Novice Riding Clubs stuff and being able to do RC Eventing was a dream, let alone BE.

Our dressage isn't the best but she always tries hard, and going clear in the SJ always bumps us up on the scoreboard because not many other people seem to do so.

I love my ponio!

WOW!
That's amazing

I wish Pepper had a track recrord like that - his would be the opposite 99% 4 fault rate in the SJ!

That's really good. Are you going to move up to Novice next season? Is the XC as good?

At Novice the dressage doesn't count quite as much. A double clear can often get you a place.

Can't move her up to Novice as it's too big for her.

We did BSJA a few years ago and she struggled at Newcomers. She's only 14.3hh and found the related distances too long. OK for a 2 stride double where she could put 3 in, but for the one striders she couldn't make the back rail and often came down on top of them, or tried a 2 stride shuffle which didn't work either.

As Novice jumps are 1.10m with 2 jumps at 1.15m she'd never be able to do it. Plus the width of the XC stuff would be too much.

Would be lovely to be able to, but she also has me to carry. 5ft 7" with my legs down to her elbows.

We're going to carry on at PN and try to improve on our dressage next year

fair enough, didn't realise she was so small. sounds as if you've done well not to knock the poles down yourself! that's what happened to me on my 14.2, he'd clear them, i'd knock them down. ruined my jumping position in 1 year, swinging my lower leg out of the way.

Thanks all.

She defo wouldn't have the scope for Novice which is kind of a shame as she is very very honest, but that would be worse in a way. Asking her to try which I'm sure she would, then cause her an injury.

She's a Welsh D, so quite pingy but not always got the stretch over the wide stuff that perhaps a TB cross would have, and she likes to get in close to things so generally doesn't have the scope to stand off which would help when the strides are wrong.

So, we'll continue with the PN for as long as she wants, and have fun

Our 14.2 is Sec D X Newfie, she always tries to leave a stride out and can really fyl and stretch. I feel the same about her not going Intermediate. We all know our horses best.
