Well we have been working on the loading and all has been going well so off to our second ever dressage test. 1st one was a bit of a car crash we fell out of the arena and it was VERY bad.
I guess 6 ish month has passed since then and his canter although still weak is coming on and 80% of the time the lead is correct so we thought we'd try the prelim too at it looked a nice test to try.
He loaded a dream with not even a hesitation, travelled beautifully as always and was very relaxed when i was getting him ready, especially as neither of us had been there before. He was a bit giraffe-like in the warm up but we had bags of time and he settled nicely.
Moved into the other arena to do the Intro test and he tensed a bit as it was a new place with lots to see! But he tried really hard to concentrate and really relaxed about half way in.
Prelim was in the Indoor which made him snort A LOT! But although it didn't exactly flow he did all the movements, struck off correct leads and maintained the canter for the full lap of school.
Couldn't be prouder of my boy who not so many months ago I thought would NEVER canter nicely enough to do a test.
Unfortunately he was having a great time and didn't want to go on the box
which took 20 minute trying by myself and then called in the calvary to get him on.
Did put a slight dampener on the day but once he was in I went back to get my sheets and....... he's scored 68.7% in the Intro and 62.5% in the Prelim- WHAT A CLEVER BOY!!! Words cannot express how proud I am of him
