so i have been on loads of mock hunts on my trusty dales pony and went on my first proper hunt on my loaned ISH about a week ago

the day went in a blur of galloping in open area's, woods, up hills on narrow paths, sloe gin and feeling pleased for myself because i ended up jumping (which mono is very good at but i am not).
it didnt start very well as we got lost on the way and arrived late trotted smartly all the way to the meet and got filmed by sabs. after a 10min hack arrived on time i could see the red coats then horror i had left my cap in the lorry with my purse. que me cantering back (being filmed on the way) grabbing my purse off my friend who was driving. started cantering/ good paced trot back to the meet (again being filmed) when mono stoppes ears pricked looking into the distance through a bend (we are on a sandy path in a forest).
around the corner come two huntsmen with the hounds and there i am thinking oh dear im on my own and never though this situation would happen, so i call out
"im terribly sorry i am really late"
"dont worry follow us" they said
"but i havent paid my cap"
"thats ok pay it later" they shouted
panicking because i didnt plan on jumping on my first day out i shouted
"but you will be jumping its my first time"
they replied with
"alright the field are comming"
so i waited for what seemed like ages, mono stood like she was turned to stone tensce with a sense of anttisipation. she had grown a hand and i though here we go. eventually all these horses and riders came round the corner. i find the non jumping group and off we go in a blur of galloping, jumping (although i didnt plan it), chatting in the brief stops FUN
best day ever
so now i know a tiny bit of what it is about i wonder what the second day out will be like..........
the horse is washed, clean and plaited with bandages and a lycra hood on so should be immaculate.
the tack is gleaming
all my hunting clothes are ready to jump into
just waiting for tomorrow ..............
