Just goes to show how important it is to get a 2nd opinion!

My horse developed a lump on the side of her hock, so I called my vet out who wanted to xray, scan it and if nothing was found then to operate on it! approximate cost would have been £3000.

So I took my horse to another very well respected vet who said it was a thoroughpin, ignor the lump and continue riding.

2 Months on and my horse is fine and I have a £60 bill for 2 visits!

Pleased I got that 2nd opinion!!!!

Hmmmm, call me cynical but I bet the initial vets first question was "do you have insurance?"
