2nd update on price query

if you have read my previous 2 posts you will no whats been going on. well just had a call today it seems the seller is now moving yards and mare must go asap tomorrow he hopes for cash no vetting!!!!. and .......would i know give him £2800. WELL know i am worried and am smelling a rat. i have decided to walk away from this one as i can not afford for anything to go wrong again for my daughter. really strange as 4 days ago i would of given £3500 and he drops to £2800. gut instinct tells me this is a bad deal.
 
does seem very odd, you've prob done the right thing, so are brave to walk away from a horse you really like. as sounds like he trying to push a sale without giving you time to have a vetting???
 
And on something quite significant if the "£4,500" horse is now down to £2,800. Have you thought about ringing up and trying to find out what it failed the vetting on? You're probably best to walk away though...
 
wud it be possible to get it vetted, like tomorrow and see what happens...

have they been trying to get more than the animal is worth? And now all this crap of 'ive just been offered 4k for it' was just to see if you were gullible enough to up the price???
Now all that has failed and he still has horsey that he is desperate to sell?????

i just feel really uncomfortable with the horse now. i am honest and she would have had a good home. but i want people to be straight with me. i have found out that someone had a 2 stage vetting done on her and all was ok so why did they not buy.
 
must admit, think id be starting to question things, isnt it awful when you cant work out if someone is taking the p***?

They must have been interested to pay for a vetting, wonder why they backed out?

MMMmmmm, interesting?? Do you know which vets they used??
 
Why dont' you try and get the phone number off them of the person who had the 2 stage done and see what you can find out? If they really want to sell and there is nothing to hide (it's perfectly possible that they are now desperate to sell in spite of all the messing about earlier) then they should be reasonable in giving you this person's phone number. Hopefully that former prospective purchaser will be prepared to discuss this honestly with you.

I bought a pony that had failed a vetting, one point lame in one of his feet, the vet said that a change of farrier would sort that out, but the original purchasers felt unable to proceed. Their loss, very much my gain!!! He's been an absolutely fantastic pony for me and my daughter. I was very lucky however in that the woman who was selling him was extremely honest with me.
