Having got fed up recently hiring transport and getting lifts from friends I am thinking of buying a bloomfield legacy to travel a 15.3 and a 14.2. They look like really nice boxes but just wondering if anyone has one and thoughts on them

Thank you :)

Looks a nice box. I have an Equitrek Sonic which is similar and very happy with it. Think you will struggle weight wise and be over weight taking two of that size though.

it has a payload of 1200 pony and horse are light builds so I cant see it would be overweight.

They are lovely boxes, we went up to visit them and they were ever so helpful and we got to ask lots of questions & see them being built.

I think you will be ok weight wise just about. Do you know what the horses weigh?

Say 460kg for the 14.2 (my 14.3 weighs 464) and 510 for the 15.3 = 970

My saddle weighs 6kg so say 20kg for tack for two

Two people at 69kg (11stone) = 138kg

Leaves you with 72kg for fuel which weighs around 0.9kg per litre so you can fit around 80litres of fuel in a tank. My Renault Master takes approx 100 litres full so depending on the journey you might want to only half fill

I am not sure what they weigh exactly but I think your estimate is about right, I will only be taking the pony with my horse occasionally. I have am appointment to see one on Saturday so will mention weight.:D

How much do liars weigh :) LOL

Some can fib about anything up to 15 kilos & thats without clothing etc.....

Having had riders in full kit plus tack (and any horse boots etc for work) on a scales the winter before last (as part of a RC session) it was amazing the weight difference between their guess & the actual weight, and thats not withstanding what they estimated what they actually weighed in their socks at home ;)
