Hi
looking at a professionally built 3.5 van convertion , seller sourced their own vehicle then had it converted by the company
the log book is previous colour of van, also still a panel van
soooooo
presume this affects taxing of vehicle and obviously I would be insuring as a horse box so would this be valid ??‍♀️

I thought that my 3.5 would change to horsebox, but apparently they stay as ‘panel van’. Can’t remember the ins and outs, but it is still registered as a panel van. I haven’t had any issues.

Mine is still a panel van, I bought (then) a 4 yr old 3.5 and had a coachbuilt body built on.
Despite repeated clashing with DVLA, they resolutely kept it as panel van.

If you have a brand new one and then it is registered, it will be logged as horsebox or livestock carrier, which is what a friend had last year, as it is originally purpose built for travelling horses.
