Im in the process of saving to get a 3.5t horsebox, i don't have a huge budget, and would be looking to spend £6k, I would be keen to hear of any boxes/ models you would recommend or avoid..this would be to transport 1x 16hh Irish Sport Horse. Thanks

I have a VW LT35 - its coach built style rather than van style and is really sturdy because of the double wheels at the rear. They are 'older' but there are many on the market that have been tarted up a bit and look quite nice. As they have day living and a bed most are only suitable to carry one horse but should be fine for your requirements. I have one and love it - a bed, hob, sink and sofa makes trips out much easier!

I had about the same budget as you a few years ago I ended up only spending £4,200 I saw some newer more expensive ones but we're not great conversions, mine is an equipe coach build Renault master and although it's a bit tatty outside could do with a re spray the I side where the horse goes is so well built it was a no brainer, so my advice would be just because something looks new and shiny it may not be the best option, there is a website called travel two horseboxes he sells some good second hand vehicles and there is some really good advice on there about what is good and what to avoid. I love my little lorry it's so easy to drive Good luck:)
