So, I’m looking at 3.5t horse boxes and wanted peoples experiences on the good, bad and ugly!!

The boxes all look relatively the same but just wondering about aftercare, reinforcing and build quality, I understand that you get what you pay for but would appreciate people’s experience on the following and also any others I should be considering;

ICE horseboxes
Ascot
Tatton
Trevett & Smith
Equi-Trek
Foxy
Marlborough

Thanks

From builders it’d say equi trek doesn’t have a good reputation for build quality. I had a 3.5t foxy seemed like a reasonable build, lightweight, worked well, the floor needed replacing after a few years and was wood with metal on top.

Slightly jumping on board here but I was about to start another thread to ask if anyone has a view on Justin Fotheringham boxes? Based in Scotland but advertises a lot in NI and we're a bit short on supply over here.

Dodgy as all he'll from everything I have heard and are to be avoided at all costs!

Same with Equi-trash! Don't bother with them either OP.

get it looked over by an independent mechanic if he'll let you (I've no reason to think he won't). There was one in Ayrshire that I was using if you see a box you're interested in-he was good, looked after my 7.5t.
