Hi Im looking at replacing my 7.5t lorry. I love the 3.5 type lorries but with a big MW hunter type and wanting to take a 14.3 as well there's no way we'd get a way with the weight :) I dont really need living just tack area/somewhere to get changed. So I know renault do a 5-6t chassis the right size. Does anyone have anything similar? any experiences? and any recommendations for people to build (ideally in Midlands area) what sort of price am I looking at for a 2 year old chassis ?
Thanks for ant help

Hi, This may not be very useful, as my lorry is old (1990), but I have a renault dodge 6.5 tonne with a 3.5 tonne box on it, which gives me over 2 tonne payload. When I was looking I found this sort of combination gave me a much better payload than the 7.5 tonne boxes, and like you a 3.5 tonne was not an option as I needed to carry two cobs. It has a kitchen unit and a luton and ive stayed overnight in it on a few occasions comfortably. It carrys the horses facing forward with their heads into the living part, if that makes sense. It was built by priory stud in Essex.

If you would like any piccys, please pm me with your email address, as im a bit of a numpty and havent sussed out how to uplaod piccys on here yet.

Best wishes.

thanks for that. I had a Dodge a few years ago but found it was high off the ground and had a bit of a sway around corners . Is yours like this or lower like the 3.5t ones?
Thanks

Hi, no mine sounds similar to your old one, its high off the ground, though I dont have much body roll on it. I tried several when looking including an iveco and that seemed to be much more unstable. Maybe im just lucky with the conversion. Can see why one lower to the ground is more appealing though.
