Hi,
Soryr if this has been posted before, but couldnt find a thread abot it :/

Anyway, I am looking to buy a 3.5Tonne horsebox, a bit like the Marlborough cob/hunter. The thing is im on a budget at £11,000 with a push of £12,000 is its a good box.
Saw one at HFB in Leek, but theyve told me two different prices and didnt seem to have much idea abot it, and told us it had no service history etc, and were quite rude about it. So a good reliable dealer would be nice.
This is not a slanging post by the way.

But yes, if any of you could help, a big thankyouuu

Ive found HFB very odd people to deal with they are however genuine if that makes sense!! and will do a honest deal

if your not to far away i would go and have a look... most comercials wont have service history as firms do it in house or have contracts with non franchised garages maybe you could contact previous owners, if its always been a horse box it will probbly be lowish miles if its a recent convertion and showing low miles I would be suspicious

this applys to all boxes

esp if it was a parcel van in a former life

however mileage is very bad way to judge the condition and often has little bearing on what something is like

I dont know what part of the Country you are in but we bought ours new from Tru Leisure. We bought a Renault Master chassis new and then Tru Leisure put a new body on for us.

Tru Leisure can find chassis for you if you want, they are excellent to deal with and will do what ever you want on the lorry. One word of warning though you must stick within the weight a 3.5 ton lorry will have a pay load of around 1.2/3 tonns, so with 2 horses on board you are well up to weight. Everything counts, people, water, tack, hay etc. all comes into the pay load weight.

Have a look at the Tru Leisure site.
