Does any one have any advice on what to feed my TB that's just about to start work. I don't want her to go skinny with work and starting to break her. I also think she needs a bit more energy she has a bit of a relaxed attitude completely strange for a 3 year old tb but she's very well handled since foal. TIA XX

Chaff & fibre beet if you want a bit of weight on her :)

Doesn't matter how laid back she seems you do not want to put feed into a horse that you are about to break as it will make your job ten times harder !

you are better having something relaxed & lazy to break than forward & shooting around & likely to deck you as it has too much energy

Sorry I should say very very laid back its hard breaking her in to a trot in hand ATM but know what you mean and that's what I did think x

I struggle to get my eventer to trot in hand unless i have someone clapping behind her or i use a long rope & give her a flick but she's certainly got enough energy :)

I would wait until she is riding away & you will probably find she will be fine :)

Thank you, think I've just been a bit worried as all my other tb's have been so forward at this age. She's only small and seems to take everything in her stride and is not fussed. X
