Anyone here who has been in my situation please help I just don't know what to do :'(
My beautiful boy has suffered with corneal ulcers on and off for 6 weeks now he has just got the 3rd today after beong clear of one for 10 days, I have spent huge amount of money on him but really don't have money left for more treatment. What do I do? Do I carry on with treatment see if it gets better? Or have a serious chat with my vet? He is a super horse loves work and life but would a life with one eye suit him I really don't know :(
Any advice would be great

Oh dear! Does your vet have any idea about what is causing this as normally it starts with an injury to the cornea. Could it be the same one just coming back? As to losing an eye, don't worry about it. Animals don't question things like that and you'd be amazed how many apparently normal horses do perfectly well with impaired vision that the owner didn't even know about. My own horse couldn't see forwards out of her left eye but it didn't stop us competing etc including jumping. One thing I do know though - a corneal ulcer is seriously painful. If it was happening to you, you'd be begging them to take the eye out I suspect :(

Talk to your vet.

My vet says eyes are strange things and have a mind of their own :( this one is smaller than the last one but its sooooo expensive and very upsetting he's not young anymore and was the best comp horse iv ever had taught me loads and he is a family pet so its heartbreaking, I know hed get used to one eye but he's so spooky and stressy already I really don't want to go down that route but as I said its unfair on him :( we have tried so much he's been in hospital twice already :(
