3yo hunter breeding class

I'm going to addinton with me filly, she has always had a snaffle bit but i am aware that it's traditional for a three yo to be presented in a double......any advise or given the same situation what would you do???

really? My 3 year old was shown county level in- hand in a snaffle and was regularly placed - never new this- I wonder if it affected my results?

I'd go with your snaffle for the 3yr old class, its acceptable at this age as the horse is not in the riding classes.

i was told 3yo were to be shown in double aswell

Keep her in a snaffle missus. Why have a double bridle on a horse at anytime unless the horse needs it???

Hummm i know but have been told by loads of 'PRO's she should be in double.

If it was my pride and joy, I would always do whats best for my horse. Its not in the rules so why do it. If the pros want to stick a double bridle in a young horses mouth when its totally unecessary for the horse then let them carry on. More the fool them! Pro's are in to win at any cost!

Snaffle for youngstock Silversons (or bitless inhand bridle) - double bridles are for broodmares in in-hand classes.
