Evening all,
I currently have a Thorpe Prospect 6.5t box which is old but solid and reliable. It's a herringbone rear load and my mare seems to not like travelling in it a lot. I tried her in a trailer at the weekend and she was much more settled. I think she's obviously one of those who like to be held in tight and not free to move around!
So I'm thinking in spring I may sell mine and upgrade to a similar size (bit of living and somewhere to sleep) but side load.
Not sure of budget yet (bonus dependant!) but considering looking at new builds. Don't want flashy living. No need for toilet, horse wash and all that jazz. I just want something solid with a decent payload of 1.6t plus.
Any recommendations? Have looked at Peper Harrow which is an option. I suspect max budget 30k ish with chassis so may end up second hand.
I know the second hand are fairly rare!
Could also consider 7.5t side load if it's compact
