this happened yesterday, just five mins drive from my yard!
I past it in the car on my way home from the yard, there was a police car over the road stopping people going down the road, the girl I was in the car with told me there had been a car accident and somone had died but thats all that was in the news at the time.
Just been at my local shop and a lady there was saying that there were two people in the car (they have caught one) and that they crashed at the cross roads, drove down to balerno and caused an accident there, injuring two people, then they drove back to the cross roads and down redford road where they mounted the pavement (they were in a 4x4) and knocked over a mother and her 4 year old daughter.
The girl was killed and the mum is in intensive care!
I've just been totally shocked by this. I guess because its where I am everyday (I dont ride on those roads... but I do where the accident at balerno was!) It's too horrific to imagine. How that little girls family must feel!! I imagine that the drivers must have been high or drunk (or both).
I cant imagine how anyone could knock someone over and drive away!
I'm going to look on the BBC website, see if I can find any more info, as I only really know scraps of what I've overheard.
