I am going on holiday soon and a friend has offered to have my just backed (then turned away) 4 year old at her yard for the week. The filly would be kept stabled (which she is fine with) and would be put on the horse walker for a short period twice a day. She is very sensible so I think she would be fine about it, but should I worry about her young legs and joints? She is sound, but has poor conformation on one leg. The alternative is to leave her at home with a groom checking twice a day, but she is currently too fat -due to the electricity board digging up the usual summer field :-( and I dont want her getting any fatter which she will at home with no one to get her in midday...Any thoughts appreciated thanks.

Assuming your friend is a sensible, knowledgable person and will keep the excercise sessions to a reasonable length, she will be fine on a walker. If she's too fat then excercise is essential, and horse walkers are very useful where there is not sufficient time or will to get horses out working.
