4 year old stirrup size

Hi. What size stirrups and stirrup leathers would you recommend for an average height 4 year old? I have just bought some 3.5" stirrups and 24inch leathers and both are too small. I don't want to get ones too big though, as my 2 year old will also be riding the pony sometimes.

hi my daughter is 4 in july and she rides in 3 3/4" stirrups, the leathers are home made however I couldnt find any small enough so took a punch a a knife to some!

Stirrup size depends on boot size - not age. (And if you are using peacocks - weight...) You need 1/4" clear each side of the boot. So measure the boot - on or off the child as you prefer - add 1/2" and bingo. Stirrup size....

I think lj0429 is referring to making leathers short enough - not thinner...

Mine (4 and 6) use the Wintec kid webbers, they only come in one size.
