Did 2 classes with Rowan. He was in a temporary dressage saddle while his new one is being made. You will notice its pony size so I just manage to sqeeze into it lol. He is soooo much better behaved at shows now! Very minimal piggy squeals so much less embarassing.
Warm up he was really good but its been a couple of months since he went in the indoor at Vale view so found it most spooky so test was inconsistent and lacked rhythm. Plus new surface was down which stank so bad and nearly suffocated me as well as it being unbearably hot in there! Got a very fair 61.7% and came 5ft out of 7.
Next was the prelim 4. Went in and the trot bits were ace. he was much more settled and didnt spook at all and was lovely and consistent in his outline. Then came the canter and OH DEAR!! Because he isnt used to cantering in a test, he was like "umm are us sure u want me to canter?" I gave him a tickle with the whip to reinforce my aid and got a HUUUGE buck then he carted off and tried to exit the arena. came back to trot and went back into canter nicely and did a nice 20m circle in canter. Accidently broke back to trot but then went back into canter again.
Then came the next rein and it was tonnes better but he still ran into a bit but he didnt break and remained quite round.
Have yet to get the results but its probably not fantastic. Judge said "is he young?" I was like err yes he's 4. she said "yes he is a bit green isnt her, you did well to keep him inside the arena"
warm up:
walk and trot:
waiting for next class munching on his fav yummy haylage:
prelim:
wheee:
Sorry Rowan, But medium trot isnt called for at prelim, especially when your meant to be cantering:
Well done if you got through all that!
