I think you might have a difficult time with this, but you could try a specialist insurer like Adrian Flux, or maybe give the AA a ring, as they act as brokers for a number of insurers.

Good luck.

Not sure about the insurance but, check out Martin Warne and sons based in Newton Abbot for doing the B+E training and they will also book your test depending on where you are based.

I'm with Bell, or try the back of one of the 4 x 4 mags for specialist 4 x 4 insurers, that's the only way I found insurance at a reasonable price when I had no no claims. Hope that helps!

Like Charlie, my 18 year old daughter is with Bell, they seem to do the best deals for young drivers. I don't know about 4x4s but worth giving them a go. Have you been to confused.com?

At the age if 21 (driving for 4 years) for me to be the registered owner/driver on my nissan terrano's insurance would cost me about £1500!! To make it much cheaper my dad is the registered owner and I am a named driver and it works out at less than half the price.

Until you turn 25, your insurance premium is MUCH higher if you are the primary policy holder and the bigger the engine the higher still. FOr a 2.5 litre engine you'd be lucky to have a policy for less than £1500. I would recommend being a second driver which can work out much cheaper depending on the other person's no claims bonus. For example, I'm 23 and I pay £200 for my 4litre Jeep Cherokee but only because my OH is 29 and has 12 years of No Claims - we insure with Admiral. Plus if you're insured on another car it can bring your premiums down - the reasoning being that you won't drive the other car as much therefore you won't be as likely to have an accident.
