Musing about doing a 4x4 and trailer, as I'm not doing much mileage and can't really justify running a larger lorry.
Wanting to get as new as possible but without falling into higher tax bracket, so it would be a 1999-early 2001 registered vehicle.
Value up to about £7,000. Turbo diesel, LWB / 5 door. Pref under 80,000 miles
There is plenty in that sort of bracket, just wondering if any of you have the following and what they are like reliability wise, insurance and how thirsty, ease of finding parts!
Discovery 2.5 TD5 - driven an older one and hated it, should I give newer model benefit of doubt?
Toyota Hilux Surf 3.0 TD - used to have one and loved it so would seriously consider another, only thing is the newer ones are very difficult to find
Nissan Patrol (?3.2 diesel)
Izuzu Trooper 3.0TD
Shogun 3.2
Jeep Grand Cherokee 2.7 CRD
Any others?
Thanks
